Rehearsal Report - 04/06/10

Scenes:
The wall of Oliver's life rushes up to meet him

General:
We discussed but didn't block the scene "Imagine a cross-section of your world"

Set:
There will be carpet under the layer of sand.

Costume:
Shoes for 6 year old Oliver (“Oliver is very young”)

Sound:
The sound for "The Wall of Oliver's life," "Quiet green edges," and "Oliver is very young" are priorities because the actors interact with them.
Ashur: Could you come to the run on Wednesday and see what they're doing with these scenes, that would be helpful.

Backpack for Oliver (“Oliver is very young”)

Golem Story:
First showed up in Psalms
Common in Hebrew folktales both as a servant and protector of Judaism.
Adapted in Disney’s Fantasia (“Sorcerer’s Apprentice”)
Golem: Unformed, amorphous
Judaism: Adam was first formed as a golem, then had life breathed into.
German Social Theory: A human without a soul
Judaism: 3 People needed to create child (Mother & Father creates golem; God breathes life into the golem)

Misc:
As the play moves, the action like the tide. Rushing. Receding. Breathing.
Air static in boys’ rooms. Dynamic air at the beach.

Surface Tension: The attraction of similar molecules. The tension of different molecules.
