Production Meeting Notes - 04/04/10

Next Production Meeting: Saturday (04/10) at 2pm
Beach Trip: Sunday (04/11) Meet at EDH 9pm

Everybody needs to sign up for Box Office Hours.

Designers need to meet with each other. (Then tell Rachel about the meetings!)

Set:
Build started.
Walls framed.
Sand has been experimented with.
Starting to get furniture/set dressing.
Designing fish/boat.
Needs to meet with Light & Props

Dramaturgy:
Glossary of relevant "buzzwords" (Ideas/Words important to design team - for actors)
Ancient mythology dealing with the relationship of sea and sky.

Light:
Created rough light cue-sheet. (Colors & time of day for each scene)
Trace out a new grid plan.

Props:
Started looking for props.
- Older Scrapbook
Meet with actors (especially Kierstin & Sam).
Needs to meet with Set & Costume
No-Prop Add Date: Sunday April 10th

How will the end of the play be treated, design-wise?

Sound:
Created sound cue-sheet.
Created sound abstract (link on blog).

Recording of off-stage voices Friday (4/09) 6-8pm

Play sound abstract for actors.
Rachel: Pockets of quiet are important. Sound 'cutting' instead of 'pushing'. How much outside noise can be heard? Photobooth sounds.
Kathi: Explore the way rain sounds inside.

Costume:
Went shopping with Kierstin (Oliver's Mother).

YL:
13: Big floppy, gray sweater. Tank-top. Cargo Shorts
16: Worn jeans, t-shirt, baseball hat
Oliver:
13: Salamander t-shirt. Bright color sweatshirt. Big rain coat.
16: Cuffed jeans, neutral, solid wash. T-shirt w/grass stains.
2 similar hoodie zip-ups. (Big/new when 13; Fit/worn when 16)
Black/dark colors against sand.

Give actors costumes ASAP to wear at rehearsals.

Light: Get opportunity to test fabrics under lighting.

Costumes big part of transition from 13 to 16.

  1. Also, we talked about the start and end of the play. The idea of blowing in and blowing out. The relationship to breath.
